About

Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay Association of NSW & ACT

Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay Association of NSW & ACT is the independent, Australian State based industry Association for Bed & Breakfast, Farmstay and other hosted accommodation providers in New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory .

Established in 2003, BBFNSW-ACT is a not for profit, member based association representing the sector to the accommodation seeker and to the wider tourism industry.

Drawing on the strengths of our past, the Association has a strong focus on the future, and offers tangible support to members as they continue to improve their business practices.

BBFNSW-ACT works closely with BBFQ, the independent, Australian State based industry association in Queensland, on cross-border issues, and maintains an affiliation with the Accommodation Association of Australia.

Over the past year the Association has represented the sector to all levels of Government and Industry providing a voice to represent this unique sector of the Accommodation Industry. It is recognised as being the pre-eminent focal point within the NSW and ACT for all forms of hosted accommodation covering Bed & Breakfast, Farmstay and other forms.

Other initiatives have seen the beginnings of a more interactive way to use the Internet. This has been an excellent way for the board to gain valuable feedback from members, and the Members’ Only Forums are an easy way to communicate with other members on topics of relevance to you – from dealing with difficult guests to how to remove heat marks from timber surfaces… A fun way to keep connected!

Much of the work done by Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay Association of NSW & ACT is unseen – liaising with Government departments on behalf of the membership. Discussions can take place over a considerable period of time, but over the years, the results have benefited the B&B, Farmstay and other hosted accommodation sector of the accommodation industry in Australia. The needs of the sector have been considered and included in policy development in many areas, including Tourism, Business, Food Safety, Training, liquor licensing and land tax.
